Mcallen is the Jewel of the upper valley area. The Greater Rio Grande Valley received it's name from the lush orange and grapefruit groves that once were the staple of the area. A small community that is the sister city to one of the best winter Texan destinaitons in the area. Nuevo Progresso is a three street Mexico town that boasts many Pharmacies, Resturants and wonderful shops with inexpensive items from all over Mexico. The ease being able to park on the U.S. side and walk over is attractive to most who go to shop and eat. Just south Weslaco, this small town is the destination of tourists from Harlingen to Mission. |
